Holidays with Hemingway Returns

Dear Hemingway friends,

The Hemingway Society's sponsored our third annual, Holidays with Hemingway Party last Thursday.

We celebrate with music (bells and guitar), a live interactive Hemingwordle game, a holiday-themed six-word-story contest, and, of course, a signature cocktail.

Wyoming and Montana Conference Preview - Recording

In just over a month, many of us will meet out west for the long-awaited 19th Biennial Hemingway Society conference in Wyoming and Montana.  The conference organizers invited you to a preview of the conference on June 20th at 7pm EDT on Zoom.   If you missed it, we are happy to provide a recording of the meeting below.

 

In Memory of H. R "Stoney" Stoneback

The Ernest Hemingway Society is deeply saddened by the death of its former president, Harry “Stoney” Stoneback, who recently passed away, aged 80. A renowned poet, folk singer, raconteur, and critic, Stoney was a dear friend to many of us—loved for his brilliance, sense of humor, and passion for all things Hemingway. READ MORE.

Calling all aficionados!

Hemingway, a film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, airs on your local PBS station on April 5, 6, and 7.  On April 10, join the Hemingway Society for a “Post-Watch” Discussion and Party.

Our discussion will feature documentary writer, Geoffrey Ward; Paul Hendrickson, author of Hemingway’s Boat; and Steven Florczyk, author of Hemingway, the Red Cross, and the Great War; moderated by Krista Quesenberry, Hemingway scholar and Visiting Assistant Professor at Albion College.
